Presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Edible Audible Picnic will feature free music and sound art performances on Mondays from June 15 through August 24. Highlights throughout the summer including Black Moth Super Rainbow on June 29, Reggae Dub Sound Clash with DJ Papa G on July 20 and one man live mixer extraordinaire Daedelus on August 10. DETROIT, May 22, 2009—Techno Music legend Carl Craig has been named Creative Director for Movement 2010. Paxahau made the announcement today as they prepare for the start of Movement 2009 which is set to begin on Saturday, May 23 at noon.

“I’ve just come to the point where if I had to compare between making some music and having someone dance or listen to it, which was more important, it would be listening to it. And I think that the how I’m approaching music now, my goal is to put the music in more of a journey, it really takes the listeners mind on a journey. And I realised that one way to be able to achieve that is basically to make it so interesting and unique that it’s not something that I’m saying, it’s something that’s between the person that’s making it and the person that’s listening to it. It’s like the sun in the sky, it has nothing to do with me or you, but it’s just there. It’s a third aspect to the way music has always been…”
Born Feb 12, 1970 in Chicago, Armando Gallop was one of the most imaginative, creative, and unorthodox of all the ‘original’ Chicago house producers. An early acid-house pioneer while still in his teens Armando contributing several classics to the Chicago house canon during the mid-’80s, including “Land of Confusion” and “100% of Dissin’ You”. Quickly rising to become one of the Windy City’s hottest around the time he received his driver’s license, Armando formed Warehouse Records with Mike Dunn just in time for his first big releases, 1988’s “151″ and “Land of Confusion.” The latter single blew up in Chicago and quickly crossed the Atlantic, just in time for Britain’s acid-house explosion.
